Outside Parliament in Reykjavik, a man throws himself at the Minister for Industry, setting fire to them both. He dies, but she survives. Andri Olafsson, now working in Reykjavik, is assigned to the case.

Plot Summary:A minister of the Icelandic government is about to enter the Parliament building, when a man suddenly attacks her and sets fire to both of them. The attacker dies instantly but the minister is rushed to the hospital. Police investigation of the incident, which initially seems straightforward, takes unexpected turns.
